Alien Thing is an Amiga Alien Breed game clone developed exclusively for the Atari ST/STE computers and is also among the very last games released for these machines. Alien Thing was written in STOS BASIC!

Review
Alien ThingSTORY / GAMEPLAY
One thing is for sure! The Amiga's Alien Breed series are among the greatest games ever created that left the ST users in envy. This time, it was ST's turn to host an exclusive "Alien Breed" clone on its library. Apart from the classic ST version there is also a more enhanced STE version. The gameplay is almost identical to the great Alien Breed series and your main task is to move around an alien-infested complex in a top-down view and find your way to the next exit, protecting your life by blasting deadly alien xenomorphes with your plasma weapon! Collecting energy and keys is of great importance since you have to unlock doors to proceed and, of course, survive!

GRAPHICS/SOUND:
The ST Alien Breed clone has decent visuals including detailed levels and nice colors. The sprites move around the screen in a smooth and fast way. Ok visually this game is not an "Alien Breed killer" (by any means) but it looks and plays nicely for an exclusive Atari ST release! The graphics are colorful and the details here and there are quite satisfactory, though repetitive. The negative here is that the screen scrolling is not always smooth and the framerate drops at times (when the screen is crowded). As far as the sound, the game features good (but of low quality) sampled sound effects and a well composed (sampled as well) intro music.
